Hi!
Do you remember the first time you went to a game?
Broadway?
A concert?
My first Broadway show was Cat on a Hot Tin Roof in 2002.
The week between Christmas and the New Year.
I’d had a chance to go to see the Rockettes earlier in the day.
Jonathan Radler stopped by my seat to say, “hello” to me and my friend, Graham.
Graham worked for Jonathan.
Jonathan gave us tickets to see the show.
A greeting from a real NYer, when I had lived in NYC for about a month!
Amazing.
That has stuck with me for over 20 years.
I can’t tell you all of the great shows I’ve been to on Broadway, the West End, and around the world.
That’s the gist of Holly Mulcahy’s piece on bringing a friend to the orchestra.
Holly’s program is strong.
She spends time with the guests. Someone leaves a note. A friend invites them.
You might not be able to do all of that.
But my question to you is, what do you do to encourage new guests?
How do you greet them and treat them when they come for the first time?
Reply with some of the things you do.
I’ll try and share some of the best ideas in an upcoming newsletter.
Dave
