Solene Jimenez Visits 'The Business of Fun' and talks culture...
Hey!
I had Solene Jimenez from Arenametrix on the podcast this week.
Let’s talk highlights:
This was Solene’s first podcast: EVER!!!!
We talk about culture. ‘Culture is everything’ it is everything about you.
Every culture needs a different strategy.
Solene is “Frenchy”…which I’m totally stealing as a term.
I talk about my “friendly face” and how it got me a job at Seattle Theatre Group.
The similarities and differences between cultures and the importance of the right mentality when meeting people from different parts of the world.
Bringing the human aspect to a tech business.
And, a lot more.

I’ll be in London in June and July.
I’m looking at putting together a happy hour on 2 July.
Some quick thoughts about the week in tickets:
The college football ‘Super League’ deck leaks: Seems complicated and unlikely to really fix anything, but I’m sure the lawyers loved it because it looks like a ton of billable hours.
The Coyotes are moving to Utah: I have a lot of questions like:
Salt Lake City metro has about 1.25M people and 5 Fortune 500 companies: can the market support another team?
What does this say about the state of the NHL’s business that this came together so quickly?
The NHL is the most ticket revenue dependent league, how much of a drag is that on the league right now because even some of the better performing teams haven’t been drawing as well as they normally do?
StubHub wants to go public at a $16.5B valuation: That seems rich! What do you think?
The NBA is going to let its exclusive window with current broadcasters expire with no deal: RIP my inbox, but everything I see points me to the idea that the big monies everyone was banking on aren’t there in this round of TV deals.
Coachella weekend 2 hasn’t sold as well as previous years: This tracks with a lot of festivals and events I’ve been talking with folks about.
What are you seeing? Let me know.
Blur wasn’t a huge fan of the Coachella crowd…and I see a lot of people talking about the Coachella crowd as a traditionally low energy crowd.
Are West End prices so high that they are alienating audiences? Sir, I’d like to show you Broadway prices.
I’m flipping between Pearl Jam and Taylor Swift today.
So, LET ME KNOW HOW I’M DOING! Hit reply and tell me what you like, dislike, or want to learn more about.
